The Year's Birthdays in Cake

Rachel wanted to go to the YMCA for her birthday so we bought a day pass and that was her present. Later she picked out a princess book and a mirror at the bookstore too. She wanted a rainbow birthday cake. We bought an angel food cake and cut it in half. We frosted one half with rainbow colored whipped cream and the other we made a rainbow from assorted fruit. She had a surprise visitor. Amy drove up Monday and got here just after we put the kids to bed so when Rachel woke up in the morning Amy was here.

Matthew had a race track cake. Everyone got to make their own gummy bar/smartie wheeled car to put on the cake. The cake was chocolate mint with chocolate mint frosting (so partly like Sam's) and his party was also riding 4 wheelers (partly like AJ's). He's getting really good at finding ways to copy both brothers in some way at the same time and creating his identity from that.

AJ designed a monster atv from a loaf of angel food cake and a muddy jump from a chocolate cake covered in butterscotch pudding. He has had some version of this cake for three years now. He had friends come over to ride 4 wheelers and have a nerf gun war.

Sam custom designed his own cake - a chocolate mint cake with chocolate mint frosting. The licorice ropes are a roller coaster track. For his present he got a K'nex roller coaster (or two?). He had a few friends come over and they built all his roller coasters.
