Sam's Monster Eggs

Sam has a hen or two that lay large eggs...by large I mean GRANDOTE! There isn't actually a word to describe how large this one was. As you can see the carton wouldn't even close. We tried to take some comparison pictures to show the size. It is easily twice the size of the regular "large" eggs laid by the other hens. It hurts just to look at it. He saved it for awhile wanting to sell it to the top bidder for lots of money. Finally talked down to reality, he ate it. It was a double yolk. He gets large (not quite this large, but larger than jumbo size) regularly and they are usually double yolks. They are the hot item in the house and he can frequently get his brothers to do stuff for eggs, as if they were money. Sam likes to say he's "going out to put his women to bed." He's very happy and proud of his little venture. He wants to go full scale - meaning like 300 hens - he thinks that would be more profitable and not much harder to take care of than 10. Yeah, I'm holding him back on that one...as usual. :)

That's a milk cap lid on it. He was being silly. I told him he should draw a face on it too and make an egg-o-lantern or jack-o-egg.
