So I guess it's about time that I write something. We missed Sarah's 6 month appointment so I don't have any idea how tall she is or how much she weighs. As only Mothers will understand though, she grew again yesterday. I came home from our date last night (white American cheese makes the most fantastic chicken fajita nachos!) and she looked 30% bigger. She must have read when I looked at Harmon's blog for his 9 month entry and felt she'd better try to keep up. I can still fit some of her 9 month clothes on her, but mostly she's going into the 12 month ones now. So much for those 12 month sweatshirts I bought on clearance at Wal-Mart this spring. :) Good thing I thought ahead, although she wasn't really bigger than her age at the time I thought if she grew anything like Rachel I might need a bigger size than usual so I bought some 18 month sweatshirts too. She is eager and persistent, very curious and like Rachel, doesn't take no for an answer. She can stand unsupported for a few seconds and Kira said she saw her stand up from the middle of the floor - only to fall over of course, but she made it up. Now that she's got the full fledge crawl down, she's taken leave of trying to walk so hard because crawling is faster and more convenient. She wants to walk so badly though, that she's even happy to be mauled by Rachel if she's holding her up to go "walky" (think Lois and Greymit and you get the picture of what "walky" looks like). She stands better if she's holding something...even a pen will work - it's in the perception I guess. She's cruising the furniture now and trying to climb onto Matthew's bed via the headboard and today tried to climb into the bathtub. Not a lot of words, but she mimicks a lot of sounds, especially singing. She loves music: if we sing, she sings too and doesn't want us to quit. We can recognize that she's copying the song. And she loves to dance. So that's the update on Sarah. She likes to eat fruit and junk food such as chips and ice cream. We took Matthew to Cold Stone for his birthday ice cream a couple of days ago and she could see all the ice cream flavors through the glass. Wish I would have had the camera/video then. She totally knew what it was and was just ecstatic to see so much ice cream in what was apparently within her reach! (no concept of glass yet). She has all 8 front teeth, but still mostly mushes her food against the roof of her mouth. She had her first haircut today which was really just trimming a half inch off a few hairs that were starting to hang into her eyes. She gets really giddy at bedtime and likes to try and be silly (shake her head no and then giggle like she just told the most hilarious joke) or attack a close sibling during scriptures. Her sweet nature is starting to show a definite mischievious streak.
